Baba Jaga – The escape – Chapter 3
After the girl left the house, she silently closed the door behind her. 👁
As she turned to leave, she noticed that she was already surrounded by Baba Jaga's dogs, staring at her with bare teeth. 👁
At first, she was scared but than she remembered the bread in her bag and the dogs suddenly started wagging their tails. 👁
When she arrived at the gate, it wouldn't open since the hinges were covered in rust. 👁
The girl used the oil to grease the hinges and when the gate finally opened, she passed through unnoticed. 👁
After she had passed the gate, a huge birch tree at the wayside reached out to her with its branches. 👁
The girl bound its Branches to the trunk with the band, her aunt had given her. 👁
She kept running into the forest towards home without looking back as she was told by the cat. 👁
Meanwhile, the cat had taken a seat at the spinning wheel and started to turn it. 👁
After a while it heard Baba Jaga's voice asking: 👁
"Are you still spinning, my dear?" 👁
"Yes, I'm still spinning old lady." 👁
Replied the cat. 👁
When the witch entered the room a while later and saw the cat at the spinning wheel, she got angry and said: 👁
"You imposter, you traitor! 👁
Why did you let the girl escape? 👁
Why didn't you scratch her face and eyes, as I told you?" 👁
The cat replied: 👁
"I've been serving you for many years now but not once have I received a present from you. 👁
The girl kindly asked for help and gave me a delicious fish." 👁
Baba Jaga became furious and rushed outside towards the dogs. 👁
"Why did you let the girl escape? 👁
Why didn't you bite her and tear her into pieces?" 👁
"We've been serving you for many years now but not once have we received a present from you. 👁
The girl gave us a whole loaf of bread." 👁
